Domingo

Well...
There were a lot of fireworks last night. Krystal and the boys watched them from outside. Grace was awake too. Lily slept through it all.

It's graces birthday today! We told her we were going ziplining. She told us she wasn't. She's afraid of heights. Would have been nice if she'd told us when we were paying for it yesterday!

Krystal, Jake, tj and I went to the market this morning for bananas, pineapples, watermelon and melon. No strawberries this morning! Tim sent to la bodegona to get bread and stuff for lunch tomorrow.

Jenn BRattlie almost got bumped off her flight but she made it.We decided to take tuk tuks to casa Santo Domingo for our ziplining adventure! 5 in one for 15q and 4 for 20q in the other. :) kids were excited to ride in them.

We rode up, up and up....the top of the mountain...and wandered around until we found the beginning of the zipline!  Lily started crying and said she wasn't going to do it.  Which obviously...could be a problem!

To do the long route, you needed to weigh 100 pounds.  Tim, Ethan and Adam decided to do the long route.  They were skeptical that the boys weighed enough...so they hauled out a scale and they both were a hair over. :)  The girls did AWESOME.  They were troopers.  They loved it.  Was so fun to do with them.   We rode back down the hill on an overpacked truck.  They weren't going to let me on but I told them they had to!

Tim, Krystal and the boys walked home.  The girls and I headed to the office to pick up the keys for Casa Paraiso Colonial where the other groups are staying.  I couln't find the office because they gave me the wrong address.  I finally called and two women and a baby showed up in a little red car to pick us up.  They drove us to the house.  Jenn B and the Chermacks arrived after about 15 minutes and Mayda came at 2.  Jenn had a phone that I'd mailed her before she left so she could call as soon as she left.  It was nice to know where they were.

Jenn, Krystal and I headed to the Bodegona to get charcoal for drawing and a cake for Grace for her birthay.  It was fun.  Patty and company showed up around 3:30.   We headed over to their house at 5:30 for dinner.

Mayda helped us fill the pinata and wire it up.  I love that we were able to give Grace a traditional birthday.  Mayda made us chicken and rice.  It was amazing as always.  We had the chocolate cake after dinner an the kids beat on the pinata and went crazy over the candy.

We left for home around 7 pm which wasn't a phenomenal idea.  We''ll be going home when it's light out from now on.  Gets a little sketchy after dark. ;)
